Lyle "Steve" Hartford

Lyle "Steve� Hartford, 84 of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, March 25, 2006 at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made to Outreach International or to D.E.B.R.A. Steve was born December 4, 1921 in Holt County, NE to George M. and Lillian M. (Walker) Hartford. Mr. Hartford was a hospital administrator for a number of years most recently for Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, IA. He enjoyed bird watching and genealogy work and had written a book on genealogy. He was an active member of the Community of Christ serving as a High Priest and was a contracted assignee to Japan for 3 � years in the late 1980�s and it was his hope to be remembered as a "Man of God�. He was married to Dora E. "Dodie� Hughes on October 2, 1943, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; their children, Sherry Moser (Bob) of Council Bluffs, IA, Mike Hartford (Jean) of Kansas City, MO and Sue Horne (Rick) of Sloan, IA; a brother, LeRoy Hartford of San Jose, CA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
