Karen Harves, 66, of Kansas City, MO passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017. A memorial visitation will be held from 12-2:30pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO, 64052.
Karen was born on December 28, 1951 in Independence, MO. After high school she worked as a beautician. She loved Mickey Mouse and teddy bears but loved her grandchildren most of all. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, taking them for ice cream and to the park.
Karen will be remembered by her daughter Angela Mamer and husband Mark of Gladstone, MO; son Brian Harves of Independence, MO; brother Carl Dean Harves of Independence, MO; sister Karla Evonne Carey of Independence, MO; brother Cary Neal Harves of Kansas City, KS; brother Carlin Bruce Harves of Sugar Creek, MO; sister Karyl Belenda Harves of Kansas City, MO; sister Karena Renee Coyle of Independence, MO; grandkids Courtney Draper-Oakman and husband Aaron, Brandon Harves, and Chris Mamer; great-grandson Hunter Oakman; life partner Rodney Williams; plus several other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Susan G. Koman or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
