Donald "Don" E. Harvey

Don Harvey, 88, of Independence, MO passed away on February 28, 2007 at the Independence Regional Health Center. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Outreach International or Graceland University. Don was born on August 7, 1918 in Boines City, MI to Homer and Edith Harvey. He was an ordained minister in the Community of Christ Church. Don served as an elder, high priest, seventy, and patriarch/evangelist for 42 years. He served the Church in OK, FL, NY/New York City, CT, ME, IA, OH, and MO. Assignments included Chaplain at Independence Regional Health Center and Ministerial Personnel Commissioner. Upon retirement, he was a Temple Guide and an Assistant Chaplain. He was an active member of the Optimist Club in Independence for many years prior to his death. Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline N. Harvey; and second wife, Loydea V. Harvey. He is survived by his daughters, Glenda G. Divine and husband Lawrence, and Carol R. Beaver and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Nikki S. Farmer and husband Greg, Bryan P. Beaver and wife, Amy and Christa M. Beaver; great grandchildren, Kinsey Farmer, Charlie Farmer, Samantha Farmer and Kirsten Farmer.
