Teresa Lynn Haslett, 56, of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at her residence. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052 with cremation to follow. Donations may be made in her name to the MS Society. Teresa was born November 16, 1957 in Mexico, MO to Jack and Janiece (Owens) Applebee. She was raised by her adoptive parents J.T. and Zetta Mearl Scott. She had worked as a restaurant manager for a number of years before she became disabled. She enjoyed outdoors and was an animal lover especially her dogs. She is survived by; her husband Rodney of the home; a daughter, Carrie Enochs of Joplin, MO; a son, Kyle Newsom of Mexico, MO; a step daughter, Sherry Haslett of Independence, MO; 2 step sons, Chris Haslett and Steve Haslett of Independence, MO; her father Jack Applebee of Ellijay, GA; a brother, Dale Scott of Centralia, MO; 3 sisters, Sandy Stephens and Judy Thompson of Columbia, MO and Debbie Applebee of Ellijay, GA and 6 grandchildren.
