Robert E. Hawes, 81 of Kansas City, KS passed away at his residence in Independence, MO on September 21, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 28th, 2019 at Maple Hill Cemetery located at 3300 Shawnee Dr. Kansas City, KS 66106. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and services directly after. Robert was born on January 22, 1938 in Kansas City, KS. He was 1 of 4 children born to Lloy and Dorothy (Tuttle) Hawes. He served in the Army National Guard from 1956-1959 as an E4 Bandsman. He worked his entire life in the Grocery Industry retiring in 1998. Robert was a very proud father raising 4 daughters as a single father. HE was affectionately named " Silver Bullet". His favorite country singer was Carrie Underwood who he had the pleasure of meeting in person! In his spare time he enjoyed playing Trumpet, fishing on Welda Lake in KS; hunting and watching the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs, and The Big Bang Theory "Series" on TV. Survivors include: Melanie Todd and her husband Randy; daughter Cristi Mount; Camie Seibel and Marci Hawes. 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother John Hawes (Sharon); long time love of his life Jeanne Lesseg-Ozias. A large extended family and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Lloy and Dorothy Hawes, sisters Bonnie Rusk, Betty Maiden and Grandson Justin Stanley.
