Harold Hayes passed away July 3, 2012. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday July 7, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St. Indep., MO. Visitation will be starting at 9 a.m. Graveside service to follow at 3:30 p.m. Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett, MO.
Harold was born on August 7, 1925, in Eldon, Missouri, to Gertie (Hess) and Clarence Hayes. He was later married to his loving wife, Erma (Hicks), in 1946. He served as a Navy Corpsman, assigned to the Sixth Marine Division during World War II. Harold worked in management for Kroger grocery stores and later retired from Thriftway grocery stores. He was fond of working on his Ford cars, and putting his hands to good use as a carpenter, building onto his home for his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife Erma, of the home; son, Ron Hayes and wife Teresa of Platte City, MO; daughter, Pamela and husband Charles Hensley of Wichita, KS; son, Dennis Hayes and wife Rhonda of Blue Springs, MO; brother, Lorn Hayes and wife Darlene of Sun City, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 1 more great grandchild to come.
