At the age of 90, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Shirley Ruth, passed away August 1st, 2019, after a prolonged illness. Born to Mattie and David Feiser on November 4th, 1928, in Independence, she is survived by brother, David Feiser, and preceded in death by siblings, Mildred Francis and Stanley Feiser.
Shirley graduated from Northeast High School and subsequently attended the K.C. Conservatory of Music. She was both an accomplished pianist and vocalist, singing in the Messiah numerous times in Independence. For many years, Shirley played concert piano as a member of Birchwood Baptist Church, and continued to bring joy to others thru her music at the Groves.
She also excelled in her job as tax auditor for the state of Missouri for years.
Shirley was an active, vivacious person with a fun sense of humor and engaging smile. She was an avid gardener, tremendous cook, plus creative artist, and a very generous, giving person, who loved her family and friends very much.
She is survived by son, John Gregory Hayner, and daughter, Deborah Hayner Jennings, plus their children and grandchildren.
