Kathryn Dorreen Hays (Coen)

Kathryn Dorreen (Coen) Hays of Independence, MO passed away Sunday November 13, 2016. Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the chapel. Burial will take place in Brooking Cemetery. Dorreen was born October, 20, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Israel and Mary (Bradley) Coen as the oldest of 6 girls. She taught and helped in the Christian School where her younger children attended. She also attended and taught Sunday school at Fellowship Baptist Church in Independence, MO. Dorreen married Raymond Willard Hays on November 20, 1954. She is survived by; son Raymond Banning and wife Bonnie; daughter Kathy Wood; son Paul Hays and wife Marilyn; daughter Sandra Haley and husband Tim; son David Hays; sisters Evelyn Leeper, Marjorie Gardner and and Judith Anstine and husband Ron; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Dorreen is preceded in death by; her parents; husband Raymond; daughters Jane Poirier and Elsie Hays; sisters Carolyn Coe and Maryan Welch. Contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church in Dorreen’s memory.
