Delmar T. “Bud” Hazelrigg, 84 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at his residence. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to Immanuel Baptist Church 112 W. 23rd St. South, Independence, MO 64055. Bud was born November 30, 1933 in Buckner, MO and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from William Chrisman in 1951. He had worked for Sears Roebuck and CO for many years before he retired in 1990 as a service mechanic. He enjoyed camping and traveling, hunting and fishing, woodworking and cracking walnuts. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as deacon. Prior to that he belonged to Six-Mile Baptist Church, where he also served as deacon. He proudly served in the Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include; his loving wife of 64 years, Ila Hazelrigg of the home; 4 sons, Wes Hazelrigg and wife Candy of Blue Springs, MO, Ray Hazelrigg and wife Diana of Independence, MO, Ron Hazelrigg and wife Susan of Raymore, MO and Don Hazelrigg and wife Earlene of Blue Springs, MO; a brother, Kenneth Hazelrigg and wife Barbara of Stockton, MO; 2 sisters, Eleanor Jacobs of Lincoln, MO and Georgia Waage of Independence, MO; 7 grandchildren, Savannah Gehrs, Michael Hazelrigg, Alexandria Zey, Blake Hazelrigg, Matthew Hazelrigg, Brett Hazelrigg and Holly Hazelrigg and 4 great grandchildren, Olivia Zey, Saylor Gehrs, Emersyn Gehrs and Everly Zey. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandchild, Finley Asher Gehrs.
