Mildred Hedberg, 85, of Independence, MO passed away on August 23, 2007. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, with the visitation to follow until 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Midge was born on June 20, 1922 in Springfield, MO to Carl and Lula Utter. She was very active in St. Mary’s PTA, St. Mark’s organizations, and worked at the church in many capacities for over 30 years. Her family was her central focus, and loved time spent with them. She also loved her church, had a very strong faith, and cherished her dear friends. She was a very determined person, who even learned to drive at the age of 65. Midge was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hedberg; and two sons, Glenn “Mickey” Hedberg, Jr. and Tom Hedberg. She is survived by her three daughters, Connie (Dale) Kolm, Nancy Rude, Cindy (Bob) Haug; one son, Marty (Colleen) Hedberg; one brother, Carl Utter; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community of the Good Shepherd.
