Mary A. Hedeen, 90, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday May 5, 2004 at Blue Springs Care Center. Services will be 10:00 am Saturday May 8, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Friday at the chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Mary was born July 19, 1913 in Hale, MO to Eldridge A. and Fannie J. (Wurster) Bedell. Mrs. Hedeen was best known for her baking of cinnamon rolls, bread and apple pies. She sewed in her spare time and enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Hedeen is survived by her son and his wife Larry and Jennifer Hedeen of Independence, MO, daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Michael Friend of Buckner, MO, Carol and Jack Bronson of Racine, WI, Nancy and Joe Strahan of Bates City, MO; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Byron Hedeen in 1993; a brother Omer Bedell and sister Lorene Baxter.
