Charles W. Hedges

Charles W. "Chuck� Hedges, 77, Kansas City, MO passed away Nov. 22, 2006. Services will be 10 am, Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Raytown Congregation Community of Christ, 6231 Manning, Raytown, MO 64133.
Chuck was born Feb. 23, 1929 in Monett, MO. He was an accountant for GM for 17 years before becoming an independent insurance agent. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a Senior Olympics athlete and was involved with Youth Friends in Raytown. Chuck was a member of the Raytown Congregation and was an Elder in the church. He pastored several congregations over the years and was very active in his church.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife Joy Betty Hedges in Feb., 2006; two sisters and two brothers. He is survived by daughter Lisa Kay Carlson and husband James, Blue Springs, MO; son David Grant Hedges, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Nicole Conard and husband Kevin, Leawood, KS; Nathan Carlson, Blue Springs, MO; great-grandson Corin Abbott Conard; sisters Jeannette Neyhart, Raytown, MO; Patricia Sharp, Grain Valley, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
