Edna Maxine Hedges

Edna Maxine Hedges, 80, of Kansas City, MO passed away, Friday, January 20, 2006. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel. Maxine was born May 3, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Arthur and Anna (Harmon) Sexton and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs. She was the first graduate of the Independence School of Cosmetology and had a later career in the Jackson County Assessors office until her retirement. Her hobbies were quilting and growing plants, especially African violets. She became a big Chiefs fan in recent years. She is survived by; 3 daughters, Terri Storms (Ellis) of Independence, MO, Marsha Shepard (Dale) of Lone Jack, MO and Janet Sheffield (Brock) of Independence, MO; a brother, Arthur Sexton of Benton, MO 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 8 siblings.
