John William Hedrick

John William Hedrick, 45, of Independence, MO, passed away, Thursday, September 29, 2005 at North Kansas City Hospital following a brief bout with cancer. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel. Burial will be in Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel. John was born March 4, 1960 in Independence, MO to Vincent and Betty (Scott) Hedrick he grew up and attended Fort Osage High School before serving in the Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Buckner. John was dedicated to helping others and would volunteer as a counselor and mentor. His most recent effort was gathering and packaging goods and necessities for victims of hurricane Katrina. He was married to Sonia Coles, they were later divorced. Survivors include; his parents, Betty and Carroll Holt of Independence, MO and Vince and Judy Hedrick of Lake City, MO; 3 sisters, Connie Hedrick of Lake City, MO, Donna King of Independence, MO and Carolyn Rowe and her husband Mark of Excelsior Springs, MO; a daughter, Haley Hedrick of West Virginia; several nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews.
