Corona Heidel

December 30, 1923 — July 12, 2010

Corona M. Heidel (Che-ona-kado-quay) 86 of Blue Springs, MO died at her home on Monday, July 12, 2010. Corona was born in Flint, Michigan in December 1923. Corona was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and Zion’s Witness Restoration Branch. Until her retirement and relocation to Independence she obtained her R.N. diploma at Hurley School of Nursing in 1945 and was a registered nurse at Kino Hospital in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona and at the Thomas & Davis Clinic, a pediatrician’s office, in Tucson. She enjoyed growing African Violets and was a member of the African Violet Society. Corona was preceded in death by her husband George Heidel, her father and mother Neuel and Elizabeth Denman; sisters, Mary Lou Stobaugh, Lucille Derscha and a brother Dan Denman. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Pulli of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, John Heidel of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Neuel Denman of Michigan and Beldon Denman of Independence, Missouri; a grandchild, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the chapel. Corona’s interment will be in Tucson, Arizona. Donations are suggested to CPRS (Center Place Restoration School) 819 W. Waldo Ave, Independence, MO 64050 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
