Mindy Lynn Hempler, 40 of Holt, Missouri passed away at her home on January 21, 2015. Mindy was born in Independence, Missouri on April 15, 1974 to Beth and John Povenmire. She attended William Chrisman High School, graduating in 1992 and received her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from Northwest Missouri State University in 1996. Mindy married Luke Hempler on October 19, 2002 in Norton, Kansas. Together, they have raised multiple cats and 3 dogs which she always called her “kids.” She worked as a Sales Representative for Bayer Crop Science and then for Syngenta. Her hobbies were many, including riding her Harley “tryke,” golfing, riding ATV trails and gardening. In 2012, she began training in Taekwondo at Advantage Martial Arts & Fitness under Master Instructor L. A. Phillips, earning her Black Belt on January 10, 2015. Mindy is survived by husband, Luke Hempler; father, John Povenmire; brother, Jeremy Povenmire and wife Abby, nephew Wesley and niece Audrey; aunt, Marcia Longstaff; and numerous cousins; in-laws Brant and Sharen Hempler; Sue and Keith Roberts; Janet and Doug Meili; Mitch and Shannan Hempler; nieces Courtney Roberts, Mariah Farber, Morgan Farber, Mareesa Hempler, Maleah Hempler; nephews Caleb Roberts, Cody Roberts; great-nephew Jaxon Arena. Mindy was predeceased by mother, Beth; uncle, David Povenmire and grandparents. Mindy’s sense of humor, giving attitude and always being there to support her friends and family will always be remembered. She was a great wife, daughter, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend that will be greatly missed.
A memorial visitation will be held at the American Royal Complex Offices at 1701 American Royal Court in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 4-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Mindy’s name to Great Plains SPCA or the donor’s choice.
