Gerald "Jerry" Henke

Gerald H. “Jerry” Henke, 50, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. Jerry was born October 15, 1962 in Kansas City, MO the son of Fred and Bonnie (Snell) Henke. He was a 1981 graduate of Olathe High School and was working for Wabtec. Jerry enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs football and was an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter. Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Hopwood; father, Fred J. Henke, Sr., and wife Sherry; sister, Shelley Henke; brother, Fred J. Henke, Jr., and wife Amanda; aunts, Linda Daniels and Vicki Kephart; nieces, Destiny and Leah; nephews, Jeremy and Joseph; many cousins; and his dog, Kodiak. Jerry was preceded in death by his uncle, John Henke; nephew, Jason Webb; and his grandparents. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
