Virginia Henny Wagener

Virginia E. Henny Wagener, 79 of Oak Grove, MO passed away, Monday, April 28, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Cremation will follow. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Harvester’s Food Pantry. Virginia was born January 1, 1929 in Oklahoma City, OK to Ernest and Eunice (Foust) Hughes. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed sewing and quilting, fishing, camping and cooking. She was a member of the Jackson County Historical Society and had worked as a volunteer at the 1859 Jail in downtown Independence for the past 15 years. She was married to Clarence J. Henny in 1973; he passed away in 1990. She later married Robert Wagener in 2000, he passed away in 2002. Survivors include; 2 daughters, Anita Peters and her husband James of Weatherby Lake, MO and Kathy Griffall-Leeper and husband Bob of Independence, MO; a son, Gary Henny of Buckner; a sister-in-law, Catherine Hughes of Shawnee, OK; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Graham, Stacey Peters, Jason Peters, Jordon Graham, Justin Henny, Bryan Henny and Nate Reed; 5 great grandchildren, Chazdon Graham, Alexa Graham, Corbin Peters, Mikenna Peters and Hailey Peters and several nieces and nephews.
