H.L. "Herb� Henry, 84 Independence, Mo. died Aug. 28, 2004 at Medical Center of Independence. Memorial services will be 6:30 pm, Tuesday, Aug. 31 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 5 - 6:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Henry was born Oct. 14, 1919 in Ridgeway, Mo. to Clarence and Fay Marie (Jefferies) Henry. He lived in Bethany, Mo. 32 years, during that time he was a self-employed businessman for 20 years, administrator of Noll Memorial Hospital for 10 years, Secretary of Northwest Missouri State Fair for 20 years, Missouri Assoc. of Fairs President two terms and served on the Board of Directors 14 years. He belonged the Rotary, Kiwanis, F.O.E., was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, Moila Temple of the Shrine, Eastern Star and VFW. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He was instrumental in organizing the Green Hills Area Cooperative Health Care Project and served as a member of the Board of Education South Harrison R-II School District. After moving to Trenton, Mo. in 1978, he was Administrative Assistant at Wright Memorial Hospital until retirement in 1982. He moved to Independence, Mo. in 1990. He is a member of the Methodist Church and attended East Alton Community of Christ. Herb was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Alberta. His survivors include his wife, Nomi, of the home; daughter, Kristi Difford, Golden, CO; sister, Carolyn Fox, Blue Springs, MO; and grandson, Beau Simmons, Golden, CO.
