James Joseph "Jimmy" Henry-Rhoads

James “Jimmy” Henry-Rhoads, 35, of Kansas City, MO passed away May 21, 2016 at his home in Kansas City. Visitation will be 2 pm Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Memorial services will begin at 3 pm at the Chapel. Jimmy was born on April 21, 1981 in Independence, MO to R. Joseph Rhoads and Margaret “Peggy” Henry. He graduated from William Chrisman High School and went on to further his education earning an MBA from UMKC. He lived in Springfield, MO for several years where he attended Missouri State before graduating from UMKC. Jimmy obtained the rank of Eagle Scout, and was a member of the Electronics and Math Clubs. He was a Cisco Certified Network Associate, and he enjoyed working on cars. Jimmy was both a hands on mechanical guy and a well educated thoughtful man. Kind was his middle name. He would frequently give a hand to a friend in need. He was mom’s handyman and his grandmother’s emergency responder! Jimmy was a very bright, kind, and loyal friend to many. He enjoyed hiking and marveling at the wonders of nature. Perhaps his greatest joy came from his time spent with nephew, Ansel. Survivors include; mother Peggy Henry; father Joe Rhoads; brother, Jack Henry-Rhoads and his wife Nicole; nephew Ansel Rhoads; a large extended family and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or your favorite charity.
