Kenneth E. Herron, 75, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, April 26, 2004 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 30, 2004 at George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Independence. Kenneth was born February 25, 1929 in Atherton, MO to Edward D. and Lootie (Cooper) Herron. He grew up in the Independence area attending William Chrisman High School. He was the owner and operator of the Phillips 66 station at the corner of 35th and Noland Rd. in Independence from 1963 until the early 1980�s. He then worked at Sinclair Gas Station and later retired to raise cattle in Holden, MO. He was a member of the National Guard for 17 years until the early 1960�s. He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Patty (Manley) of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Richard E. Herron of Holden, MO and Jeffrey P. Herron and his wife Margie of Independence, MO; a daughter, Barbara Ann Nicas and her husband Jerry of Liberty, MO; a brother, Robert Herron and his wife Jean of Grain Valley, MO; 9 grandchildren, Alicia, Shawn, Kyllie, Alexi, Holly, Josh, Cory, Nick and Noah.
