Richard Edward “Sam” Herron, 56 of Holden, MO, formerly of Independence died Thu. Jan. 3, 2008 at Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia. Visitation will be from 1 �" 3:00 p.m., Wed. Jan. 9, 2008 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Indep. MO, with a graveside service being held at 3:30 pm in Salem Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Independence. Mr. Herron was born on May 28, 1951 to Kenneth and Patty (Manley) Herron in Independence, MO. He had been a forklift operator with Lipton Tea and assisted his father at the Herron Phillips 66 Service Station for many years. Recently he had worked for Winco Fireworks in Lone Jack, MO. Sam was a loving son, father, brother and companion who enjoyed collecting baseball cards, motorcycle memorabilia and spending time with family and friends. He was an Army veteran and had attended First United Methodist Church of Independence. He was a 1969 graduate of William Chrisman High School. Sam was preceded in death by his father Kenneth in 2004. He is survived by his mother, Patty Herron, a brother, Jeff Herron and a sister, Barbara Nicas, all of Independence. A son, Shawn Herron of Holden, MO and a daughter, Alicia Wolford of Lee’s Summit, MO. Sam’s significate other, Sharon Krigbaum of Holden and several nieces and nephews.
