Karol Lee Hicklin, of Blue Springs, MO went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 31, 2007. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, June 4, 2007 at Tri- City Baptist Church, 4500 Little Blue Parkway, Independence, MO. Burial will be at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Sunday, June 3 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO. Karol Hicklin was born Feb. 16, 1941 in Fremont, Nebraska, to Alva and Bernice Funk. She spent most of her life in Kansas City, MO, where she raised her children with her husband Vance. After 27 years at Farmland Industries, she retired as a computer programmer. She loved music, church ministry, books and travel. She graduated from Bob Jones University where she met her husband of 44 years and she attended Tri-City Baptist Church where they served faithfully together.
Her father, Alva Funk, preceded her into Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Vance Hicklin; mother Bernice and step-father Gene Wilkinson, Gladstone, MO; son Steve Hicklin and wife Melissa, Blue Springs, MO; daughter Lorinda and husband Chris Harlan, Kansas City, MO; daughter Lonna Hicklin, Simpsonville, SC; sister Karen and husband Gene Davis, Pensacola, FL; step-sister Kay Jones; step-sister Sharon and husband Kenny Miller, all of Deepwater, MO; and four grandchildren: Jenny and Amanda Hicklin, Erin Leatherman and Jackson Harlan.
