Cora “Louise” Hill, 97 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO 64016 with burial to follow in Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Louise was born June 6, 1923 in Oak Grove, MO to Franklin and Ida (Hamilton) Gillespie. She spent her early life in Levasy and graduated from Levasy High School in 1941. She had worked for Honeywell formerly Bendix Corporation for over 32 years until she retired in 1987. She was a member of the Local IAM union for over 65 years. She was also a member of Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church. She is survived by; 2 sons, Perry Hill and wife Barbara and Charles L. Mavel, Jr., all of Independence, MO; a step daughter, Linda Hill of Blue Springs, MO; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul C. Hill in 1995 a daughter, Charlene Jones and 2 brothers, Melvin and Raymond Gillespie.
