Cumma Nadine Hillyard, 91 of Marshall, MO formerly of Independence, passed away Thu, Jan 11, 2007 at KU Medical Center. Services will be 1:00 pm, Thu. Jan. 18, 2007 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 1:00 pm Thursday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Parkinson Foundations of the Heartland, 7800 Foster, Overland Park, KS 66204 or the American Heart Association. Nadine was born on Sep. 13, 1915 to George and Emma Duckworth in Springerton, IL. She had been a sales clerk for TG&Y Department store and also the Dollar General Store, retiring in 2002. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting and growing flowers. She loved spending time with her family at family functions or just when they came to visit. Nadine was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Independence and had been attending Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marshall, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hillyard in 2002 and a son Ronald Hillyard in 1983. Nadine is survived by a daughter and son in law, Paula and Dale Bear of Marshall, MO. One sister, Mabel Randolph of Carmi, IL. Three grandchildren, Jeff Bear, Tracy Leathers and husband Mark, and Lori Hillyard. Three great grandchildren, Lorraine Leathers,Toni Henson and husband Kyle, and Mackenzie Hankins.
