Margaret Robinson Hines, 94, of Shell Knob, MO, died December 16, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Margaret was born in 1923 to Roy and Beulah Stewart Bunten of Des Moines, IA, where she graduated from Roosevelt High School and briefly attended Drake University. She and Wm C. (Bill) Robinson were married in 1942, while he was serving in the US Navy. Bill was in the plumbing and heating business in Des Moines where they raised their family. Margaret assisted Bill in their business until they retired to their home on Lake Red Rock in Knoxville, IA. Bill died in 1987 and in 1992 she married Dick Hines, a farmer from Chariton, IA. During winters Dick and Maggie enjoyed traveling the US in their motor home. After Dick’s death in 2002, Margaret moved to Shell Knob, MO. Margaret was an enthusiastic volunteer, assisting in the United Cerebral Palsy of Central Iowa, sheltered workshop as well as serving as a UCP board member. She was a twenty year hospice volunteer, an every Wednesday volunteer at Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, and in recent years became “Gramma Hines” at the Shell Knob School. Through the years her main interest was serving her church and at the time of her death she was a member of the Community of Christ of Berryville, AR. Survivors include sons, Bill Robinson of Lee’s Summit, MO, Ken Robinson of Green Valley, AZ, John Robinson of Palm Desert, CA; daughter, Janice Weiberg of Shell Knob, MO; sister, Doris Campbell of Overland Park, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Dean Robinson; and her brother, Robert R. Bunten. She was also close to her step children, Dick Hines, Jeanne Klassen, Connie Pyron and Janet Spurgeon who also survive.
