Ruth Jeanette Hitchcock, 87, of Independence, MO passed away on August 6, 2005 at the Rosewood Health Center. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. on Monday, August, 8th at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. The service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. Ruth was born on March 30, 1918 in Independence, MO to Lane C. and Lottie M. Bolt. She was a long-time member of the Community of Christ Church, volunteering and serving in different facets. She loved music and shared her gift of singing and playing the piano and organ with all. Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Ann Bolt. She is survived by her husband, Leonard A. Hitchcock; one daughter, Carol S. Willits; two sons, David K. Branstetter and wife Beverly, and Danny L. Branstetter and wife Lynette; sister, Helen and husband Glen Stewart; brother, Darrell Bolt and wife Paralee; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
