Wilbur Hochstedler passed away Friday September 14th 2012. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20th, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 6:00-8p.m. Wednesday, September 19th, at the chapel. Interment will be at Mount Washington Cemetery.
Wilbur was born in 1927 to LeRoy and Lela (Squire) Hochstedler in Osceola, Missouri, where he lived with 8 siblings. He attended the local school. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Later, Wilbur made a career of welding for Haven Steel, retiring in 1989. He was fond of traveling and listening to Country Western music. Wilbur will be dearly missed by many.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents and three of his siblings; Alva, Raymon, and Maxine. He is survived by his beloved companion, Nola Bacon and her 4 children; his daughter, Sharon Hill and husband Jeff of Breckenridge, MO; grandson, Mortaza Joseph Haddadi, of Iran; brothers, Dean Hochstedler of Osceola, MO; Ansel Hochstedler of Independence, MO; and Wallace Hochstedler of Harrisonville, MO; sisters, Edith Watkins of Cameron, MO; and Anna Bonner of Macks Creek, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
