Darell Hodges

Darell Hodges, 74, of Independence, passed away January 2, 2014 at his home surrounding by his loving family. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The service will immediately following the visitation. Darell was one of 12 children born to Ohle & Rosie Hodges in Lexington, MO. He married the love of his life, Shirley Srader in 1959, and they had 54 years together. Darell was employed at Rudy Patrick Seed for 16 years, and Superior Supply for 24 years, He most recently worked for the IRS. Darell was a simple man, whose greatest pleasure was cooking for his family. His fish fry’s will be greatly missed. Left to morn his passing is his wife, Shirley Hodges of the home; sons, Aaron Hodges of Lexington, and Michael Hodges of Blue Springs; daughter, Virginia (James) Sandridge, of Independence. Darell also leaves behind 5 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 2 great grandsons, and 1 brother, Bill Hodges of Independence. Darell is preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Hodges; 2 brothers; and 8 sisters.
