Marjorie Hoffman, 82, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at
The Villages of Jackson Creek Assisted Living. Marjorie was born April 21, 1932 in Manchester,
England. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alice (Schofield) Dewsnup, and her husband Fred in 2009. Marjorie worked for many years as a Medical Histologist. After retiring she worked part-time as a switchboard operator at the Groves. She sang for many years with the Fine Arts Chorale. She also sang with the Independence Messiah where she traveled to New York to sing at Carnegie Hall. Marjorie was a member of the Independence Music Club. She was a member of the RLDS Church since she was a little girl in
England. Marjorie was currently attending the New Hope RLDS Church. Survivors include; daughter, Christa Hutsell and husband, Kevin; sister, Barbara Westbrook, and her husband, Paul; grandchildren, Kendra and Derek Hutsell. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 6-8 pm
at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington, Independence, MO 64052. Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at New Hope RLDS Church, 220 W Moore, Independence, MO.
