Mr. John Joseph Hogan was born in Grand Junction, Colorado June 1, 1924. His Father was Timothy Hogan and his mother was Myrtle Lydia Barker Hogan. He attended public schools in Grand Junction, and graduated high school May of 1942. He married Minnie Josephine Rader June 5th of 1944. He joined the Navy during World War 2 and was stationed for most of his three year tour of duty in San Diego, California. He served his country as an aviation machinists mate. After returning to Grand Junction following his service in San Diego, he and his wife Minnie joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church. During his professional career, Mr. Hogan was employed with the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, Climax Uranium, and District 51 School Systems in Grand Junction, primarily in maintenance.
Mr. Hogan is predeceased by his mother and father and sisters Margaret McKinney, Elizabeth Wild, and Bea Wild, and wife, Minnie Josephine Hogan. He is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Hogan, daughter Sharon Lotz and husband Dave; son Michael Hogan and wife Rebecca, and seven grand children and 8 great grand children.
At his death, Mr. Hogan was a member of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as a High Priest. He had lived in Lee’s Summit, Missouri since June of 2008. He passed away on January 29, 2018.
