Norma "Jean" Hogge of Independence MO passed away August 30, 2018. Born and raised in Quincy, IL. Jean was a daughter of Otto and Elise "Krallman" Mueller. She met her future husband, Robert Lee Hogge at Scottie's roller-skating rink in Quincy where they both enjoyed skating. They were married on May 28,1949. Robert died in 2014 after 65 years of marriage.
Jean was a 1946 graduate of Quincy Senior High School. In 1956 Robert and Jean moved to Independence MO where they raised their two sons. She was a stay at home mom for many years being a Den Mother, Sunday School teacher and PTA member. Her family was always her priority. Later she worked for the Independence School District. Jean was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Independence.
Survivors include her two sons, Michael Lee Hogge, Mark Alan Hogge and his wife Rebecca, all of Independence. Also surviving, two grandsons, Jason Wayne Hogge of Kansas City Missouri and Grant Alan Hogge, United States Coast Guard, a brother, William Mueller and his wife Helen, sister Mary Weisenberger all of Quincy, IL and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents and three older sisters, Madeline Campbell, Evelyn Mueller and Betty Krull.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 6th from 6-8:00pm with a service on Friday, September 7th at 10:00am, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Interment will take place at Floral Hills Cemetery following the ceremony.
