Norma Anne (Kirkendall) Holik was born Nov. 15, 1918, in Ashland, KY. She died June 11, 2007 in Independence, MO.
She was graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S. degree and later earned her Th.D. degree from the School of Theology, Chicago University. She taught at Ohio State University, Ashland High School and Ashland College in Ashland, Ohio. She worked twelve years as the Editor at the Columbus Blank Book Company. For twelve years she was Public Relation Director for the Women’s International Bowling Congress. She served as the Executive Secretary of the School of Saints in Independence, MO, for twenty-three years.
On Nov. 27, 1970 married Thomas Myron Holik in the Kirtland Temple atKirtland, Ohio. They moved to Independence, MO in 1973. When her husband died in 2002, she moved to The Groves.
Norma taught many religious education classes from the age of sixteen and was a successful author of articles and books (fourteen published books). From the age of eight when she was baptized, she was an active member in local and world church activities of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She attended the Waldo Restoration Congregation.
Norma’s travels included visits to five continents and twenty-seven countries. This included twenty-one trips to Mexico and eleven trips to Europe. She enjoyed a facility in languages. She did some archeology study and went on digs in the 1940’s.
There is no immediate family but there is a host of loving friends.
