J. L. “Pappy” Holland, 84, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 in the chapel. Burial in Buckner Hill Cemetery. J. L. was born July 20, 1922 in Blytheville, AR to William L. and Clara E. (Hillard) Holland. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Holland, also known as “Pappy”, worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years before retiring in 1984. His family meant the world to him. J.L. is survived by his companion Rosalie; children Sonny Stone, Gary Stone and wife Gloria, Christy Stone, Janet Jones and husband Reg, Valerie Worley and husband James, Rick Stone and wife Brenda; Patsy Massey and husband Lonnie, Randy Stone and fiancée Kathy Lynn; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilda in 1987.
