Theresa Lee Holland, age 58, of Sugar Creek, MO, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2005 at home, with her family at her side. Theresa had courageously fought a sixteen-month battle against cancer. A Mass will be held in her honor at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Cyril�s Catholic Church. Visitation and a Prayer Service will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at Carson-Speaks Funeral Home. Theresa was born August 11, 1946 in Independence, MO. She attended and graduated from St. Mary�s Grade and High School. After many years of juggling work and motherhood she received a Bachelor�s Degree of Fine Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She graduated with Honors, and was on the Dean�s List one year earlier than her eldest son. Theresa spent time working at numerous mortgage institutions before finally spending the past twelve plus years at Midland Loan Services, where she achieved the level of Vice President of Training. She was a member of the Sugar Creek Garden Society. Theresa was also a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Altar Society for St. Cyril�s Parish. She was happily married for almost forty years to her loving husband Earl. Besides her family, Theresa�s passions were gardening and traveling. Theresa was a remarkable person who embraced the optimistic viewpoint that she was given 16 months to spend everyday in the company of her family, friends and loved ones. She made the most of the time given to her by traveling with her family to France, Spain, Florida, New York City, Cancun, and San Francisco. Theresa has chosen to be cremated and she has requested from her family that her ashes be spread over her favorite vacation spots. Survivors include her husband Earl C. Holland of the home; 2 sons, Brett M. Holland of Lee�s Summit, MO and Ryan A. Holland and his fianc� Kristina of Sugar Creek, MO; 2 sisters, Toni Anne Holmes Sugar Creek, MO and Sue Mills of Lee�s Summit, MO; a brother, Michael Jasso of Sugar Creek, MO and her parents Anthony and Virginia Jasso
of Sugar Creek, MO. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Jasso in 1942.
