James Holliday

James Burns Holliday, 82, of Independence, MO passed away Monday August 18, 2003 at Rosewood Health Center at The Groves. Visitation will be 7-9:00 pm Wednesday August 20, 2003 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday August 21, 2003 at the East 39th Street Community of Christ, 15006 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. James was born November 14, 1920 in Detroit, MI to James and Elsie (Schacht) Holliday. He attended school through the 10th grade in Ferndale, MI and graduated from Cooley High in Detroit, MI. He attended the University of Detroit studying electrical engineering. James was a radio operator during WWII in the Merchant Marines. Mr. Holliday is survived by his wife Dora of the home, son Darryl Holliday and wife Charlotte, granddaughter Tacy Lynne Holliday all of Germantown, MD. Also surviving are a brother Kenneth Holliday and wife Frances of Redford, MI and an uncle, Robert Schacht and wife Nancy of White Lake, MI.
