Marjorie E. Holliger died June 27, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. She was born May 30, 1923 to Ray D. and Ruth Klein in Kansas City, Mo. and lived in Independence her entire life. A 1941 graduate of Northeast High School she married her high school sweetheart Ronald E. Holliger on January 20, 1943. She lived at the Fountains at Greenbrier in recent years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Independence most of her life. She was active in Telephone Pioneers before her husband’s death. She was a homemaker devoted to her family and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved crossword puzzles and bingo, bird watching, flower gardening and reading. She is survived by four children, Ronald R. Holliger (Jan), Blue Springs; Fred L. Holliger (Susan), Scottsdale, Ariz.; Jan M. Ralston (Dave), Independence and Carol R. Vollmecke, Independence. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great children. A sister, Barbara Miller, survives in Irving, Texas. She was predeceased by her husband in 1999, son-in-law Leon Vollmecke and one grandchild. Services will be at Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 30, 2007; burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service Saturday from 12:30 pm until 2:00 at the Chapel.
