ichard Dean Holloway, 64, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, January 6, 2012. Mr. Holloway’s Visitation will be 11:30-1:00 p.m., followed by Memorial services on Thursday, January 12, at East Independence Community of Christ, 823 S. Elizabeth St., Independence, MO 64056.
Richard was born December 23, 1947 in Pittsburg, KS to parents Norman and Ruth (Ohlhausen) Holloway. He was an Elder in the Community of Christ Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and went on to work for Armco Steel Mill for many years. Richard later graduated from UMKC with a Bachelors degree in psychology and continued his employment as an Income Maintenance Specialist for the Missouri State Department of Social Services.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Cathy of 45 years; son Chris Holloway and wife Sarah of Tempe, AZ; mother Ruth Holloway of Indep., MO sister Gayle Ann Brewer of Indep., MO; brother Terry Holloway and wife Ruth of Indep., MO; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, and son, Joseph Holloway.
