Greg Douglas Holmes, 53 of Higginsville, MO passed away Tue, Apr. 18, 2006 at Research Medical Center. Services will be 11:00 am, Fri. Apr. 21 2006 at the Central Christian Church, 16 West 20th St., Higginsville, MO 64037 with a visitation from 10am until service time. Graveside services will be 4:00 pm, Friday at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be 7 - 8:30 pm, Thursday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Indep. MO. Contributions are suggested to the Mary Ann Holmes Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 2415 R. D. Mize Rd., Indep. MO 64057. Greg was born on Feb. 25th 1953 in Springfield, MO. He had been an assemblyman at the Lafayette County Enterprise Inc. Greg, a resident of the Higginsville Habitation community for more than 35 years, was a very special person who had touched the lives of many with his personal warm greetings. In addition he was a car enthusiast and avid culinary collector. Greg was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church and was presently attending the First Christian Church where he loved the music. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Holmes in 1994. He is survived by his father, Lee Holmes of Independence, MO; a brother, Jeff Holmes and wife Tanna of Leawood, KS: a sister, Reverend Lucinda Holmes and husband Cliff Meek of Kansas City, MO. A nephew, Sterling Holmes of Leawood, KS and all his caregivers at the Higginsville Habitation Center.
