Gary Gene Holsworth, 62, of Independence, MO, passed away, Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Research Medical Center. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Gary was born January 27, 1943 in Independence, MO to F.C. and Mildred (Wilson) Holsworth. In 1959 Gary began working at the Allis Chalmers parts warehouse at 35th & Noland Rd. where he labored for 25 years until he was forced into retirement via plant closure. Gary was a 1961 graduate of William Chrisman High School. After the 1992 passing of his in-laws, Roy and Olive Lewis, Gary with his wife, Marilyn, assumed ownership of the Lewis family business, Independence RV Parts and Campground. In 2005, Gary retired to enjoy fishing, piddling and piddling, as no one could piddle better. Gary had a big heart, even in death he is a hero to others. As a supporter of organ donation his generosity continues through the lives he saved. Even though most of his family preceded him, Gary will be dearly missed by a host of friends and fellow workers. Gary is survived by his wife of 21 years, Marilyn (Lewis) of the home; a son, Shawn Holsworth and his wife Jamie and grandson, Conner Holsworth all of Grandview, MO; a step-daughter, Tiffany Davis and her husband George of Independence, MO; 3 step grandchildren, Kiersten, Nathan and Erin Davis; a ex-wife Sharon Holsworth of Grandview, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Frank and Rosie Holsworth and mother and father-in-law, Roy and Olive Lewis
