Kenneth LeRoy Holsworth, 82, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 in Belton, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov, 4, from 6-8 pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday at the chapel. Burial with full honors will take place in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Ken was born on January 27, 1932 in Wichita, KS to Carl and Mabel (Wipple) Holsworth. As a young man Ken moved to Independence, where he graduated from Wm Chrisman High School. After graduating Ken was drafted into the Army and served during the German Occupation. After returning home form the service he joined the printing industry, retiring as production manager. He enjoyed playing Pool, and in his younger days, golf. Ken was a life long member of the VFW and American Legion. Survivors include; wife Mildred Holsworth; sons John Michael , and Brian Charles Holsworth; daughters Linda White, and Cindy Gropper; sister Helen Bennett; stepsons Randy and Joe Dunkin, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Annetta Holsworth in 1995, and a son Edward Lee Holsworth in 1977. Contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice.
