Margaret Cordell "Peggy" Hommes (Pearce)

Margaret C (Peggy) Hommes, 89, beloved wife of the late Wayne (Bud) Hommes, formerly of Independence MO, passed away Sunday, July 30 in Chicago IL. Margaret was born November 14, 1927 to Lester and Callie (Holland) Pearce in Pleasant Hill, MO. She attended CMSU in Warrensburg and was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. Margaret was a long time resident of Independence until moving to Chicago in 2007. She was an elementary vocal music teacher with the Independence School system until retirement. Margaret was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and involved with the KC Lyric Opera Guild and a Bingham Wagonner Estate volunteer. She is survived by sister, Eleanor Dinges of Pleasant Hill, son Don Mosier of Lake Forest IL, daughter Diane Mosier Stynis of St Paul MN, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be 2pm Saturday, August 5, with viewing at 1pm, at Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington, Independence; with internment in Mt Washington Cemetery.
