Wayne Henning Hommes, 81, known to many as "Bud� passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Independence Health Care Center. Services will be 10 am Monday, August 1st at Speaks Suburban Chapel; with interment in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at the chapel. Bud was born June 24, 1924 to Paul F. and Lillie (Henning) Hommes in Independence, MO. He was a life long resident of Independence except for the seven years spent in the Navy as a 1st Class Petty Officer during WW II and the Korean War. Bud was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 21 and VFW Post 1000. He was a member of St. Luke�s United Church of Christ. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in Independence in 1980 after 26 years of service. Bud is survived by his wife Margaret; sisters, Pauleen Sorensen of New Oxford, PA, June Piper of Lee�s Summit, MO; brothers, Robert Hommes of Salina, KS, Harry Hommes of Independence, MO; son, Donald W. Mosier of Lake Forest, IL; daughter, Diane Mosier Stynis of Brisbane, Australia; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
