Marguerite Honsinger, 101, Raymore, MO passed from this life into glory into the arms of Jesus on Sept. 8, 2013 with her family by her side. Services will be 10 am, Friday, Sept. 13 at Southland Baptist Church, 16205 Vicie Ave., Belton, MO 64012; interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Marguerite was born May 13, 1912 in Webb City, MO, the youngest of eight children. She was a Baptist and was very active in the churches she attended over the years of her life. At Beacon Baptist Church she served as Choir Director, played the piano and organ and taught Sunday School. She was an excellent cook and cooked for church camps and mission trips to Mexico and Canada. She was a member at the Kansas City Baptist Temple and the Blue Ridge Baptist Temple in later years. She also worked as a cook for over twenty years in the Kansas City School District, mostly at Bingham Jr. High. She loved sewing, crocheting and working in her flower gardens. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband Roy O. Honsinger, daughter Alice McKinney, sons Roy O. Honsniger, Jr. and Gary D. Honsinger, and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughters Darline Mensendiek and husband Ken, Raymore, MO; Bettie Tays and husband Harry, Grandview, MO; Carol Lakin, Kansas City, MO; Penny Honsinger, Grandview, MO; son Jim Honsinger and wife Misty, Lee’s Summit, MO and ninety-six grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren
