Bobby Hoover, 81, Blue Springs, MO passed away Friday, July 13th, 2018 peacefully in his home. A visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church 4725 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, MO, 64064. A service will follow at 2pm. He will then be laid to rest at Mount Washington Cemetery.
Bobby was born on November 28, 1936 in rural Elkland, MO to Raymond and Ruby (Evans) Hoover. He spent 40 years working for the BNSF Railroad and retired as Conductor. He also served as Chairman in the United Transportation Union for the 40 years that he worked. In his younger days, he liked to hunt and fish. Presently he enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs play. He was a member of Woods Chapel United Methodist Church. Most of all, Bob loved being with his family.
He will be remembered by his wife of 51 years, Donna Hoover of Blue Springs, MO; daughter Debbie Davenport and husband Larry of Yellville, AR; son Steve Hoover and wife Rhonda of Yellville, AR; daughter Brenda Ross of Pembroke Pines, FL; son Duane Hoover of Yellville, AR; daughter Sherri Leible and husband Chris of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter Lucinda Hauber of Sherman, TX; daughter Lisa Valency of Carlsbad, CA; foster son Daniel Terrell and wife Kelly of Belleview, NE; and his sister Martha Swanigan of Springfield, NE; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; plus many other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Wanda Williams and Gloria Sue Kendrick, and 2 son-in-laws CB Ross and Darrin Valency.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Woods Chapel UMC, memo: Mission Funds.
