George Wilford Horton, 60, of Buckner, MO passed away on September 30, 2005 at the North Kansas City Hospital. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep., MO. An inurnment service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, at Salem Cemetery, Indep., MO. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. George was born November 26, 1944 in Meadville, MO. He graduated in 1962 from Miami R-1 School in Amoret, MO. George was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1964 to 1968. He was also a member of the IBEW Local Union #124 since 1972, and retired in 2004. George was preceded in death by his father, Berlie C. Horton; mother, Ruth E. Beil; step-father, John P. Beil; brother, Bobby Horton; half brothers, Lavon, Paul, Clifford, Harold, Ed, Berlie Jr. and Donald "Jack� Horton as well as Fred Brockmeier. He is survived by his wife, Janet Horton of the home; sons, Craig S. Horton of Independence, MO and Kevin G. Horton of Blue Springs, MO; sisters, Nancy Spencer of Blue Springs, MO, Phyllis Marrs of Grain Valley, MO and Sue Albrecht of Stover, MO; and many Nieces and nephews.
