Mary Jeannette (Sicks) Hotalling, 70, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Monday, December 28, 2015. A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00pm Sunday, January 17th, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
Mary was born June 20, 1945 in Sherman, TX to John H. and Pauline “Jeannette” (Collins) Sicks. She had two beloved children. She was a dedicated worker who not only worked as a secretary for ARMCO Steel and Union Wire Rope but also was a travel agent, owned a tanning salon, and numerous other successful businesses. She also dedicated her time as a house mom for SAE at University of Kansas. Mary was a KU, Chiefs and Royals fan. She loved traveling, scrapbooking, flower arranging, and spoiling her cats. Her family remembers her strong work ethic, her sharp business mindset, and love.
Survivors include, son, James Donal Hotalling of Shawnee, KS; daughter, Susan Jeannette (Hotalling) Joplin (Huston Ward) of Bates City, MO; grandchildren Alex, Kathy, Kaylynn, Kylie, Isabella, Timothy “Drew”, Joshua “Dean”, Stephen “Matthew”, Kera Mae Jeannette; nine great grandchildren and one more on the way; sister, Sally Hart (Ron) of Oregon; nieces, Karen Green (Mark) and Sarah Pease (Todd).
