Esther Elizabeth House, daughter of Fred and Minnie (Essinger) Leonard, was born May 17, 1914, in Mountain View, Missouri, and passed into eternal life on February 14, 2006, at the age of 92 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Buckner. Visitation will precede services from 1:00 p.m. until services time at the church. Esther was the seventh child in a family of eight children. After the death of her mother in 1928, Esther moved to Dighton, Kansas, where she attended school and graduated from Dighton High School. She married Karl House of Arrol, Missouri on September 7, 1940 Karl and Esther lived most of their 58 years of marriage in Independence, Missouri, and later moved to Buckner, Missouri, where they enjoyed many years of retirement. Following Karl�s death in October 1998, Esther moved to Colorado Springs, in August 1999, to be near their daughter. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, and homemaker, and truly enjoyed her roles as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Esther is survived by her daughter, Linda Brooks, of Colorado Springs, her granddaughter, Shawn Smith of Mayview, Missouri her grandson, Shane Mobley of Shawnee, Kansas, Three great-grandsons, two great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Lloyd; her grandson, Derek House: and all of her siblings. Esther was member of Buckner United Methodist Church and will be buried beside her husband and son in Buckner, Missouri.
