Clyde Howard

Clyde Howard, 80, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, October 21, 2016.

A visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m., with funeral service at 10 a.m., both held Tuesday, October 25, at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery.

Clyde was born on August 6, 1936, in Kansas City, MO, to Henry and Edna (Stapleton) Howard. He worked for Hopcroft and then for Harding Glass Co. as a glazier. On March 30, 1968 he married his beloved Georgia Johnson. Together they enjoyed their neighborhood bar and friends, their daily Mountain Dew, and their backyard flowers. He could often be found listening to the blues while woodworking. He was funny, outgoing, and devoted to his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Mackey of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Sheila Driskell (Doug), Marcy Dunkin, and Jason Morgan; great grandchildren, Heather, Kaylin, Chelsi, Falisha, Morgan, and Trevor; step great grandchildren, Brandi, Dougie, and Krystal; and great great grandchildren, Halena, Serenity, Brooklynn, Eli, and Evan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Georgia; sons, Bruce and Michael Morgan; and son-in-law, John Mackey.
