Helen W. Howard

Helen W. Howard, 90, Independence, MO passed away April 18, 2006. Services will be 10 am, Monday, April 23, 2006 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 112 W. 23rd St., Independence; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Sunday at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Helen was born in Kansas City, MO. but was raised in Willow Springs, MO. She was a member of the church and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army for many years. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin F. Howard in 1995, granddaughter Carrie Jones in 2001, and daughter-in-law Pat Howard in 2000. She is survived by son Leslie Howard and wife Mary, Independence; sister Alice Street and husband Frank, Indianapolis, IN; brother James Harter and wife Shirley, Blue Springs, MO; grandsons Jay Howard and wife Lori; Leslie E. Howard, all of Independence; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
